There's that Pin!!!!

As some of you know, Easton had a pin put in the bottom of his stump to hold the heel pad in place. When Easton's cast came off we couldn't find the pin. We thought it might have gotten lost in the carpet or something. When we went for his check-up the doctor did an x-ray. Needless to say, we found the pin! I'm pretty sure we would have seen that in the carpet.

We went in for surgery today to have the pin removed. It was just out-patient surgery and things went great! Easton never even cried. The nurses in the recovery room said that never happens! They couldn't believe he was so easy going and happy. What can I say... that's my boy! He was sent home with a 1/2 inch incision in the bottom of his leg with two stitches that will dissolve on there own. The nurses all thought he was adorable. He just kept waving and blowing kisses to everyone.

Andy and I feel so lucky to have such a sweet, special boy in our home and are grateful for the spirit that he has and the incredible strength that he has brought into our lives.

Sadie got to spend the night at Gigi's house and of course loved every minute of it. She has been a great big Sister and loves Easton so much! Sadie makes us laugh everyday and seems to know exactly what to say when we are having a rough time.

How Andy and I got so lucky.... we'll never know!

I wondered where that pin went! It looks really long and I don't think you would have missed that. Glad it all worked out.

That was a big pin. When you described it to me I was thinking the size that you sew with. We are glad it all worked out.
