On Saturday they were having a kite flying activity at Antelope Island and I have never been before... so we decided it would be a fun day activity. We packed a lunch, some sand toys and headed to "the Island" for a few hours of fun. When we pulled up it was really foggy and really windy, so we were a little worried. But, by the time we had driven around the island a little it cleared up. The kids love seeing wildlife... so they were very impressed with the antelope and buffalo. The buffalo were seriously so close to the car! I rolled down the window to take a picture and it scared one, so it jumped and turned away... I honestly almost peed my pants! Then I got a lecture from Sadie about not taking pictures because I was scary all the animals away!
There weren't too many kites, but there were a few cool ones that they had staked to the ground that would just blow and bounce around. The kids had a lot of fun playing at the "beach".... which technically probably isn't really a beach since the water was probably half a mile away and brought in by truck.... technically its probably more like a giant sand box. We had a lot of fun and it felt great to get out and get some fresh air!

That looks so much fun. I have never been out to the island. It looks like a cool place.
I loved the pictures. What a great time! I remember when they did a kite day out at the salt flats when I was around 6...I still have great memories of that day. It was after an easter egg hunt. Ask Andy about it. There was a kite we could run through...It was crazy. Loved all the new photos.
