My baby girl started first grade. I didn't want it to come.... but it came right along anyway. Sadie has been looking forward to first grade... or rather, eating lunch at school, since the second week of summer. I can't believe my baby girl is so big! I had a bit of a mid-mid life crisis... but I think I handled it with grace and dignity. I only broke down and cried a few times before her big day.... and I managed to keep it together until I left the classroom dropping her off. As hard as those first few days were, we have all adjusted well and Sadie is loving school now more than ever! She is such a good girl.... On back to school night her teacher, Miss Nelson, mentioned the class was very quiet. I smiled and looked at Andy with complete shock... Sadie? Quiet?..... She then finished her statement, "Well, all except for Sadie. I have already gotten to know her pretty well.".... Few, for a second we were concerned she wasn't feeling well!
We had a few apprehensions about Sadie's teacher, but so far she has proven to be a very good fit for Sadie. I think she is going to learn a lot in her class.
Most of Sadie's "best friends" are older than her.... I guess she is following in her Mommy's footsteps. I always hear them talking about their meeting spot at recess. I'm so glad she has chosen good friends!
