Kindergarten

Well, it's official. My baby girl is now a kindergartener. She was SO excited to start, and now that it has she LOVES it. When you ask her what the name of her school is; she proudly states.... KINDERGARTEN. She loves her teacher and has told me a million times that she has a pretty voice.
Her favorite part of her first day was, of course, recess. But she was also quick to tell me about gym. She had music class on Tuesday and thought it was cool that she got to go to the "music house" aka portable. "you know Mom, the white house with steps."

Finding our name on the bulletin board.
Also, there are three red-headed girls in her class.

This is Miss Wilkes second year teaching. She plays the guitar and Sadie has already sang us her song "I love kindergarten." She also speaks German and will be teaching the kids a few words throughout the year.

I must admit that sending Sadie to kindergarten was much harder than I thought it was going to be. She was really disappointed that Andy and I had to go to school with her. I actually had to explain why we were coming with her and that it was only the first time.... so not to worry about it. I am really glad she was so excited to go, because it would have been even harder if she didn't want to go. I had a bit of a break down the night before school started, however I did wait until Sadie was asleep. And, I managed to make it throught the entire "real" first day without a tear.

It is just hard to send your baby off, knowing that you can't protect them and shelter them from the world anymore. I'm so glad Sadie is a confident girl....

We love you Sadie and we are VERY proud of you!

Oh,
Sadie also did GREAT at her kindergarten testing. Miss Wilkes says she knows a lot more than most kindergartener's and she said she has excellent handwriting. Sadie was very excited to tell everyone that she did well on her test and made Miss Wilkes happy.
