Christmas morning....

As we were getting ready to leave Nan and Pa's house on Christmas Eve, we prepared ourselves for a fight. The kids were soooo excited, we were sure they weren't going to want to go home. So Daddy took them upstairs to see the Santa tracker and Sadie literally had her hat, and boots on and was outside before I could even make it up the stairs! She was SO excited. When we got home we sat out our cookies and Mt. Dew for Santa.... (he drinks the hard stuff at our house) and our special reindeer food for Rudolf and the kids hopped in bed. I got the kids their drinks and told Sadie I would be right in to sing to her. I was shocked to hear....
"No Mom! You can't sing. There isn't time! You've got to get into bed!"

Within minutes they were both snoring... I wish things went that smoothly at bedtime every night!
This is what things looked like before the Chaos began.....

When the kids finally woke up.... at 7:00..... after I turned every light in the house on, and made as much noise as possible, without actually physically waking the kids up, we took them into our bedroom and talked about what Christmas is really about. We said family prayer and then had the kids wait on the stairs while we got into position to see the expressions on their faces. They were supposed to come down together, but Sadie ended up being a little faster!
