While we were at the pool in Lava Sadie pushed my nerves to the limit. Those of you who know me well, know that although I am not afraid of the water, I have a great repect for it..... so it's a little hard for me to see Sadie and Easton being SO Brave!
I wish I would have gotten more pictures, but I was too busy trying to keep myself calm.
Sadie and Easton LOVE the water, especially since swimming lessons this year. While we were at Lava Easton found a slide (that was pretty steep, I might add) he loved. He went on it at least a dozen times. Sadie talked Daddy into letting her go down the BIG water slides by herself. I thought she would get scared, but my wise husband, said to let her try... SHE LOVED IT!
So things were going well.... but, Sadie couldn't leave it at that. She insisted on going off the "jumping board." I told her that she wasn't big enough, so she persisted with her Dad. They have really strict rules about the diving boards at Lava. No floatation devices, no one in the water to catch her, and you have to swim a few yards down the pool past the yellow zone.
Andy decided to take Sadie around to the deep end of the pool and let her jump in off the side. Apparently she did well, because he came back saying she was jumping off the diving board. I just about had a heart attack. Sadie begged me to let her go and I finally caved. She jumped in and did GREAT! I was scared to death for her, (here i must clarify. I didn't think Andy was going to stand on the side of the pool and let her drown..... I knew he would jump in after her. I just didn't want her to jump in and then have a bad experience.... I didn't want her to feel the fear of thinking she was drowning.)
I could not have been prouder when she did it so well all by herself! She loved it and wanted to go again. When we take her to the pool since then, she never wants to wear her floaties... she just likes to swim..... even in the deep end. Honestly... she probably already swims as good as me.
Sadie, Mommy is SO proud of you!
